My Fourteen Pets

James T. , Fourth Grade

How many of your friends have fourteen pets?

I have fourteen pets: seven horses (One is a baby.), two goats, four cats, and one dog.  Every day, we give hay to the horses.  We give goat food to the goats and we give cat food to the cats.  We give dog food to the dog.  I take part in this by unloading hay and I feed the dog.  I like to give apples and carrots to the horses.  We also give the horses water.  My mom polishes the horses' hooves.

We have big horses and small horses.  Did you know that my mom saved one horse from being killed?  It was about to be turned into horse meat.  My mom called in the nick of time and said "I want that horse!"

Having fourteen pets is a big responsibility, but I love it.  I take good care of my fourteen pets.
